"Empowering individuals, families and communities through Healthy & Supportive Aging services and Community Engagement"
Senior Friendship Centers is a non-profit network of centers in Southwest Florida with services that meet the needs of people 50 and older, and extend into the community with volunteer opportunities for all ages. Since the early 1970s this organization has led the country in developing innovative, cost-effective approaches to address the health and wellness needs of older adults. We touch the lives of thousands of older adults and their families every year.
A belief in “People Helping People,” the core of Senior Friendship Centers for nearly four decades, is more vital than ever. At the epicenter of the aging revolution, with 38 percent of the population over the age of 60, Senior Friendship Centers is 20 years ahead of the population projection for the rest of the country.
Senior Friendship Centers has a national and international reputation for innovation. Its services have expanded to address volunteer and community engagement for all ages in non-profits throughout Sarasota County through the Friendship Volunteer Center, VISTA and RSVP programs.
