PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE

Ways to Give

“We helped create an endowment for the Medical Clinic and funded a diabetes education program because the Friendship Centers serves people who have no place else to go.”

Choose How and When to Support the Friendship Centers

Annual Fund

When you make an outright donation to the Friendship Centers for any reason, your gift goes directly to support our ongoing operations. If desired, you can designate your gift as restricted to a special program, department or locality. Gifts can be made on a one-time or recurring basis. We typically have mid-year and year-end Annual Appeal campaigns.

Charitable Giving Options

When it comes to charitable giving, you can activate a gift in your lifetime, or make it part of your estate. You and your financial advisor can decide which is best for you. Some examples include: donate a required IRA distribution; add us as a beneficiary on an insurance policy or IRA accounts; donate some appreciated stock; or donate a piece of real estate, vehicle or boat and receive the tax deduction.

Corporate Partnership

Becoming a corporate partner of the Friendship Centers is a great way to reach senior citizens, the families who love them, the donors who care about them, the volunteers who help them, and the community organizers who serve them. We offer a variety of Corporate Partnership benefits designed to provide you with an effective vehicle to maximize your company’s marketing budget. Call 941.556.3215 to find the best match for your company.

Fundraising Events

If you are looking for a festive way to help raise money for the Friendship Centers, you may want to sponsor or attend one of our Fundraisers throughout the year. Our signature events currently include the People Helping People Awards Breakfast (Sarasota); Friendship Around the World (Sarasota); Friends for Friendship (Collier County), Tea & Friends (Lee County), Venice Lights of Friendship (Venice) and Raise your Glass for Friendship (Charlotte County). See our Corporate Partnership section to find out how you can become an event sponsor.

Legacy Society

We invite you to leave a gift that will sustain the Friendship Centers well beyond your lifetime by joining the Legacy Society. No minimum is required, regardless of the vehicle selected by you and your advisors. Choose from charitable bequests, lead trusts and remainder trusts, or add us as a beneficiary on your life insurance or retirement plans. Legacy gifts are usually designated for the Senior Friendship Centers Foundation, Inc., a non-profit established in 1992 to ensure support for generations to come. Please let us know if you have included us in your estate planning by contacting us at 941.556.3215.

Memorials and Tributes

We invite you to remember a loved one with a gift that memorializes their values. Memorials can be made to our endowments or to specific programs. Tribute gifts can also be made to honor a loved one or friend’s birthday, anniversary or special day.

Naming Opportunities

Whether you are able to give $10,000 or $10 million, there are several meaningful opportunities to have a campus building, room or space named in your honor or in a loved one’s memory. Your name can also be associated with a specific program. To explore naming opportunities at the Friendship Centers, please call our VP of Development at 941.556.3253.
