Mort has dementia and was really struggling at home. Now he has a friend in Jose, who comes to visit three times a week through the Lee County Friendship Center’s RELIEF program. The regular visits also bring respite to Mort’s wife Diane. “It’s wonderful to be able to have a life,” she says. “Mort loves Jose. They are really buddies.”
