PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE

On Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. the top chefs in senior care facilities in Charlotte County will compete for prizes in the categories of hot appetizers, cold appetizers and desserts.  Judging will be done by “celebrity” chefs and all proceeds from the event will benefit the Senior Friendship Centers’ senior dining program in Charlotte County.

The event will be held at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center, 75 Taylor Street in Punta Gorda. Event presenters include Trilogy Home Healthcare, Senior Friendship Centers, and the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce.

Chefs from Heritage Oaks Assisted Living, Royal Palm Retirement Centre, Lexington Manor, Life Care Center of Punta Gorda, Brookdale South Port Square, Chelsea Place Rehabilitation, and Village Place Senior Living will present items such as smoked salmon with garlic aioli, shrimp guacamole, burrata caprese with salmon roasted vegetables, duck confit, risotto with mushrooms, beef and shrimp tacos, spring rolls, heavenly custard, tres leches, and much more.

John Wright, president of the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce, will emcee the event.  Judges will be Christopher Mandile, La Fiorentina, John Mazza, Farlow’s on the Water, and Jason Osbourne, Charlotte Technical College.
