A fun music oriented class that helps participants reach their goal of maintaining proper balance. Instructor Mike McManus leads the class in a fun variety of exercises that work the entire body as well as help to balance the mind. His background in theatre shines as he selects a different music theme for each class and invites the participants to sing and dance along with the music then concludes the class with demonstrating his tap dancing skills.

Mike started his theatrical training in Miami, FL under the direction of Frank Bunette (Jackie Gleason’s director) and choreographer, Ron Daniels. Mike attended the famed American Academy of Dramatic Arts and The Herbert Berghof Studio in New York City. While in Manhattan he studied with many of America’s great dance talents including Henry La Tang, Mary Jane Brown, Carol Hess, Joel Bergman, Charles Kelley, Jerry Ames, Phil Cook, Charles and Kasha Lowe, Bob Audy, Luigi and Alvin Ailey. Mike also had the privilege of taking classes with Patsy Swayze (Patrick Swayze’s mom) in Houston, Texas. In Sarasota Mike has trained extensively in group exercise and balance movement classes with Verna Ferris (1975-2015). Altogether Mike has been teaching tap dancing and balance movement locally at various facilities for over 40 years!
