Senior Friendships Centers of DeSoto County

Senior Friendship Centers of DeSoto County is centrally located in a spacious window-front facility adjacent to the Tidewell Administrative Hospice House. In addition to a warm nutritious meal, visitors enjoy low-impact exercise classes, a walking group, arts and crafts, gardening, health screenings, opportunities to volunteer, and support groups. Home-delivered meals and case management are also offered.

Activity Center

The Activity Center in DeSoto is a place to get connected, make new friends, find support and be involved. The Center’s activities include low-impact exercise classes, a walking group, arts and crafts, gardening, health screenings, and opportunities to volunteer. The Center is open M-F from 9-1. Exercise classes are at 9:00 and 10:30 am. Walking classes are held MWF at 8:30 am. Lunch is served every weekday at 11 am.

Support & EHEAP

The Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP) assists low-income households, with at least one person age 60 and older, when the households are experiencing a home energy emergency. Call (863) 494-5965 for more information.

We also offer a close-knit support group for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and Other Relations Raising Relations. These monthly meetings are a lifesaver for those who find themselves in this challenging situation. For both of these programs, call (863) 494-5965.

Friendship Café

We invite you to enjoy a healthy meal in the Friendship Café, a friendly social setting for the 60+ crowd, right at our centrally-located Center. Lunch is served every weekday at 11 am.

Home-Delivered Meals

Nutritious meals delivered to your door can make all the difference if you become unable to cook for yourself or if you simply want to be assured of a healthy meal. Many people find it difficult to shop, navigate the store aisles or decide what to buy on a limited budget. Our home-delivered meals are nutritionally calculated for seniors and easy to prepare. In-Home Care

We can help arrange for the most appropriate care for your older relative, family and you. Knowledge, experience, respect and compassion ensure that you and your loved one feel comfortable with the decisions made and the quality of care provided.
