Giving

Senior Friendship Centers Needs You

In Southwest Florida, seniors face many challenges as they navigate through the journey of aging. Many older adults in our community are hungry, isolated, facing crisis, or simply in need of a friend.

We invite you to join our family of caring, supportive donors who are committed to changing lives for seniors. Your gift can provide home-delivered meals, crisis intervention and in-home support, adult day services, resources for caregivers, educational classes, friendly visitors, support groups, and so much more.

Below you can explore the different ways of giving to Senior Friendship Centers. No matter which avenues you choose, just know that your donation will have a tremendous impact by nourishing bodies and minds, breaking down the barriers of isolation and loneliness, and shining a beacon of hopeful light to those in darkness.

GEM Monthly Giving

GEM – Give Every Month – is Senior Friendship Centers monthly giving program. Giving monthly is an easy way to care for seniors in the community. GEMs will provide a steady stream of revenue for Senior Friendship Centers, ensuring that older adults in Southwest Florida can rely on us for their needs.

You get to decide how much you want to give each month. And you can make changes any time you need to. As a member of this special group, you’ll receive a quarterly message from CEO, Erin McLeod, updating you on how your gift has made an impact for our seniors.

To become a GEM visit our Donate Today page and then be sure to select “Recurring Donation” instead of one-time.

If you’d prefer, call (941) 556-3205 or email [email protected] and she will get you enrolled in a snap. It really is that easy!

Want to Double Your Donation?

Senior Friendship Centers is participating in the Louis & Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust matching gift program. The Flanzer Trust is a local organization that makes gifts to support our community. One way they’re giving back is through this special matching program.

Please visit the secure and trusted Flanzer website here. Then, click donate and simply select Senior Friendship Centers from the dropdown menu. They will DOUBLE donations between $5 and $500 (up to a maximum of $3,000 per household annually). You can choose a one-time gift or recurring gift. If you select the recurring gift option, you’ll still become a member of our GEM program mentioned above. Call (941) 556-3253 for more information or assistance.

Tribute Gifts

If you’d like to give a gift in memory or in honor of a loved one, you can do so on our Donate Today page

Tribute gifts can be a one-time gift – or you can also select the recurring gift option mentioned in the GEM – Monthly Giving section above. When making a tribute gift, be sure to indicate who the gift is in memory/honor of, as well as who you would like for us to notify of your special gift.

If your loved one has passed and you would like for Senior Friendship Centers to receive gifts in their memory, please call (941) 556-3205 for contact information on where gifts can be sent and to let us know who should receive acknowledgment of gifts we receive.

Planned Giving – Join the Legacy Society

What is Planned Giving?
In the simplest terms, planned giving is a donation arranged in the present, but given at a future date. Commonly donated through a will or trust, planned gifts are most often given once the donor has passed away. For donors, planned giving can be a great way to give their life new meaning … to keep doing good beyond your lifetime.

Since a planned gift is for the future, it is not limited by your current financial status or needs. Planned giving may allow you to make a gift you might not ordinarily be able to make because it isn’t dependent on your regular income.

Why Should I Join?
Planned giving preserves your legacy – and helps secure the future of Senior Friendship Centers.

With your planned gift, you can combine your heart for helping others with your overall financial and estate planning goals. This is a special opportunity to touch lives for years to come.

Some planned gifts offer you direct benefits, such as lifetime income or tax savings. Most planned gifts are excluded from estate tax, which can be a benefit to your family. Selecting the right type of planned gift may help you create a larger gift than you thought possible.

What Can I Donate?
Planned giving can include gifts of cash, trusts, stocks, life insurance, real estate, or retirement accounts. Whatever gift you choose, planned giving can help you fulfill your personal and charitable goals. If you’re worried that your gift might be too small – don’t! Even the smallest planned gift can have a lasting impact on seniors. Senior Friendship Centers is here to help you find the option that’s right for you.

How Do I Join the Legacy Society?
The Legacy Society is a group of individuals committed to securing the future of Senior Friendship Centers and improving the lives of older adults throughout the community for generations to come. Joining this special group is easy: a conversation and a simple form are all you need to join the Legacy Society.

Our team will guide you through the process and help you understand your options. Call or email today to get started with leaving your legacy: (941) 556-3253 or [email protected].

We recommend that you consult with your attorney and/or estate planner when preparing your Legacy gift.
